QBE North America's QBE Shootout gives back

New York, NY – QBE North America, an integrated specialist insurer, has announced the charities that will benefit from the QBE Shootout. The company signed on as the title sponsor of the Shootout this year, which took place at the Tiburon Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

The PGA Tour co-sanctioned event makes a meaningful impact with the local community and several nonprofit organizations across the United States. Among them is CureSearch for Children's Cancer, which was presented a check on site at the conclusion of the tournament by Mark Cantin, President, Field Operations of QBE North America.

The other organizations benefiting from this year's tournament include Children's National, Director's Charities, Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics, Wounded Warrior Project and the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund. Over the years, the tournament has raised more than $13 million for a variety of charities.

Cantin, who also serves as the chair of the QBE Foundation in North America, remarked, "It is an honor to be associated with an event that has such a strong focus on supporting both national and local charitable causes."

"We take great pride in supporting a wide variety of truly deserving organizations," added Russ Johnston, CEO of QBE North America. "And one of the highlights of our year is when we distribute funds to worthy causes. Funneling the proceeds of the QBE Shootout back into the community reminds us of why we sponsor this amazing event. It's exciting!"

The charitable support provided through the QBE Shootout aligns with QBE's core value of giving back to the community. The company also donates approximately $1 million annually through its foundation in North America to help people overcome disadvantages, strengthen their abilities and live more independently, successfully and productively. QBE also provides its employees with paid time off to volunteer in the communities in which they work and live.

Johnston continued, "We'd like to thank everyone involved with this year's QBE Shootout – especially the other sponsors, our employees, volunteers, players and fans – for making it a truly memorable experience."
