QBE presents Friends of Man with $25,000 grant

(Denver) - The QBE Divisional Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to the Friends of Man organization based in Littleton, Colo.

According to QBE President and Chief Executive Officer John Rumpler, Friends of Man provides services that fit well with the foundation mission. The foundation is dedicated to supporting vocational opportunities around the world through organizations that help people live more independently, successfully and productively. "We are pleased to support this outstanding organization," he said. "It helps people who have the greatest needs in the community, and also provides many volunteer opportunities for our employees."

Friends of Man helps people become - and remain - self-sufficient, meeting needs that include training, daycare expenses, medical equipment and eyeglasses. Stuart Witkin, Friends of Man president, said the agency is honored to have been selected as a grant recipient and described QBE employees as some of the organization's most loyal and dedicated supporters. "This grant will help us a great deal with our main focus - to get people back into the workforce."

Friends of Man is one of 10 charities receiving grants from QBE in 2011. More than 200 charities providing vocational services in QBE's local communities were nominated and voted on by employees in 143 offices across the country.
